Purpose
· Responsible for carrying out the basic testing and measurement functions.
· Ensure a high-quality supply chain by performing process audit and product testing, per company’s corporate spec requirements.
· To understand customer needs and support them to accomplish the job within appropriate timeline.
· Provide metallurgical support for new business development.
End Results and Deliverables
1. Monitor the heat treat supplier for quality, process compliance and compliance to corporate specification.
2. Run the Machine/ Equipment in the Lab and maintain technical reports, Calibration reports, customer requests forms, and lab samples for appropriate length of time.
3. Perform standard and complex metallurgical testing in-house and take accountability for the overall functioning of the lab, including maintenance/repair/troubleshooting/cleaning of all the machines & Equipment in the Lab & maintain proper records of spares/ inventory items.
4. Write standard operating procedures for all equipment in the lab. Also, assist in troubleshooting and resolving manufacturing issues.
5. Maintain records for performance monitoring on a time scale, for actual time taken to perform a job vs the defined timeline.
6. Carryout heat-treat equipment qualification. Prepare the qualification documentation and release to concerned people.
